Zebra label generator

Prepare labels for a Zebra-compatible ZPL workflow

Configure label size and printer resolution, design with supported elements and generate inspectable ZPL rather than concatenating commands from spreadsheet cells. Compatibility describes the output format only; BatchLabel is not affiliated with or endorsed by Zebra Technologies.

A practical workflow

How to use it

  1. 01

    Confirm language and resolution

Check that the target workflow accepts ZPL and whether the device is configured for 203, 300 or another DPI.

  2. 02

    Design with supported elements

Use the editor's text, line, box and barcode fields; keep spreadsheet values out of raw commands.

  3. 03

    Download and test safely

Inspect the ZPL and send one label through your trusted local printer setup before a batch.

Avoid rework

Common errors and precise fixes

Assuming all models share resources

Firmware, fonts, memory and command support can differ across printer configurations.

Keep output within the documented subset and verify on the exact target model.

Unescaped caret in product data

Raw `^` can begin a new ZPL command if data is concatenated directly.

Use BatchLabel field encoding and reject unsupported control characters.

Know the limits

Only the documented ZPL subset generated by BatchLabel is supported.

Printer fonts, firmware, darkness, media and calibration require device-specific testing.

Questions, answered

Before you continue

Does BatchLabel connect directly to Zebra printers?

No. It exports ZPL or printable files. Network, USB, driver and queue configuration remain in your trusted local environment.

Is this an official Zebra product?

No. Zebra is a trademark of its owner. BatchLabel uses 'compatible with' to describe a technical output workflow and claims no affiliation.
